1. Introduction

Welcome to CareerDad ("we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using our website, application, or services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Nature of Service

CareerDad is a software tool designed to assist users in optimizing their curriculum vitae (CV) and preparing for job interviews using Artificial Intelligence (AI).Important: We are a technology provider, not a recruitment agency. We do not guarantee employment, job interviews, or specific career outcomes. The success of any job application depends on factors outside our control.

3. Artificial Intelligence Disclaimer

The Service utilizes third-party AI models (including OpenAI) to generate content. By using the Service, you acknowledge that:

  • AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or "hallucinations."
  • You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and editing all documents and advice generated by the Service before submitting them to potential employers.
  • We accept no liability for any rejection, loss of opportunity, or reputational damage resulting from your use of the generated content.

4. User Accounts and Credits

To access certain features, you must purchase "Credits" or a subscription.

  • Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials (via Google Firebase Auth).
  • Credits: Credits purchased are for internal use within the App only. They have no monetary value outside the Service and cannot be transferred to other users.
  • Expiry: We reserve the right to expire unused credits if an account remains inactive for 12 months.

5. Payments and Billing

All payments are processed securely by Yoco Technologies (Pty) Ltd.

  • We do not store your credit card details on our servers.
  • By clicking "Pay", you authorize Yoco to charge your card for the specified amount.
  • All prices are in South African Rands (ZAR) and include VAT where applicable.

6. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Upload CVs or personal data belonging to third parties without their explicit consent.
  • Use the Service to generate fraudulent, misleading, or illegal documents.
  • Attempt to reverse engineer the AI prompts or underlying technology ("Prompt Injection").

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) 68 of 2008:

  • CareerDad shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.
  • Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 6 months preceding the claim.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
